Biblical Understanding based on the Record of Scripture
Synagogue is an anglicization of a Greek word, and it means "bringing together". It refers to the people who are meeting, and by extension to the place where they meet. The Greek word was not a religious word, but over the centuries it has taken on a religious meaning. In this study we will look at how it is used in the Bible. This should impact our understanding of the sheep and the goats in Matthew 25, as well as how we understand the body and the vultures in Luke 17:37.
